The bond between a handler and their gundog is truly special. It is built on trust and communication, creating a partnership that goes beyond training and performance. This relationship involves understanding each other’s needs and instincts. When handlers establish a strong connection with their gundogs, they can enhance their abilities and make their experiences in the field more rewarding.

Congratulations to Gracie & Meg on their impressive placement and well-deserved gunners award at the prestigious Cocker Spaniel Field Trial held in South Carolina. This remarkable achievement marks Gracie's second participation in a cocker field trial, and she truly excelled, showcasing her skills and dedication throughout the competition. The event was filled with talented participants and their exceptional spaniels, making Gracie's performance even more commendable. Her ability to navigate the challenging course and respond to commands with precision demonstrated not only her training but also the strong bond she shares with Meg. Together, they have put in countless hours of practice, honing their techniques and building their teamwork, which ultimately paid off in this competitive setting. The recognition they received is a testament to their hard work and passion for the sport. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this dynamic duo in upcoming trials.
Helping our clients work with their gundogs during a pheasant shoot requires understanding both dog training and the dynamics of the pheasant tower shoot. Preparation involves assessing each of the gundogs needs, and practicing commands and retrieving techniques. On the day of the shoot, Todd helps our clients in communicating with their dogs, interpreting nonverbal cues, and employing timing and patience for a successful hunt. Throughout the day, Todd offers feedback how to improve teamwork, ensure safety, and enhance the hunting experience by fostering a strong relationship between client and their gundog.

Any reasonable person can train a gundog. However, it takes a truly talented and skilled person to develop a flushing dog and maintain a relationship with that dog. This relationship is developed through trust and your gundogs trust is not something you should take for granted.
Our relationship with our gundogs is developed over time through a combination of exposure to game birds, properly teaching an expectation, repeating the lessons and maintaining a high standard.
