Exploring Cover

Many times, cover has mixed results. We like to explore a variety of cover as the habits of the birds evolve and cover that was dominant when we were young is in short supply. This is a small spot we stopped at to run both the English springer spaniels and English cocker spaniels. They were all young dogs so we looked for cover that may hold some birds and also allowed for young dogs to get through it and gain confidence. Grouse hunting new spots is a lot of trial and error. Great looking spots can be devoid of birds and poor looking spots can become your "secret" spot. Get outside and explore...the dogs like the variety after a long stale year of structured training.
