Our Irish Bred English Springer Spaniel “Ferg” On Chukar!

START YOUR YOUNG PUP WITH A STRONG FOUNDATION!

Basic Gun Dog Development Camp!

Todd had worked many dogs in the morning on Chukar, so there were birds all over the property. This was a great opportunity to run one of our younger dogs on the loose Chukar. This was an hour and a half walk with Ferg, he learned so many things in that walk. The video I believe is 9 mins long, I so enjoyed watching all the fun that Ferg was having this day I didn’t cut much. Sit back and enjoy the video.

Basic Gun Dog Development Camp

The objectives for our Basic Gun Dog Camp are to set a strong foundation for your dog, which includes proper introduction and exposure to birds, proper gun introduction, basic obedience. hunting in control and basic retrieving. This camp is focused on getting your puppy or young dog off to the right start before negative traits are established. This camp is generally available any time of the year, except October and November, and generally is for three months. At the end of camp, your dog will come when called or whistled, hup/sit when told by voice or whistle, be e-collar conditioned if you choose, hunt for birds within range and generally retrieve.

A Young Girl & Her Dog!

Happy Ella & Ryker!!

This past October Ella and her family picked up Ryker at our kennel and ever since then Ella & Ryker are joined at the hip. She tells her family that she is going to do all of the training with Ryker. I believe there are talks of running some hunt tests.

Here is a recent note from her Dad to us at Christmas time. “Someone got a brand new play set for Christmas but would rather be with her dog! She love him so much!”

We are so happy for this wonderful family & Ryker! We love getting notes and photos..

Happy New Year to all!

Winnie Goes Quail Hunting!

Your girl Winnie is precious and off to a great season. Couple great hunts in the books and she gets better every time out (despite me!)

And my strongest recommendation on your training. Winnie still responds as taught! We kid all the time about her “Todd” behavior 😄. Winnie knows when it’s game time!

Winnie is a Dudley x Anna pup..

Developing Spaniels

I often tell people that I do not train spaniels…I develop spaniels. It is a very fine distinction but a very important one. To me, a “trainer” implies a superiority over the pupil that is destined to fail from the beginning. A person that “develops” is destined to always be searching for ways to enhance communication and is learning to build a relationship to bring the most out of the pupil.
