Border Collies Working Sheep In New York!

One morning during our stay in Millbrook, Betsey took us to see a good friend of hers that trains border collies. Mich would be training her border collies this morning and she was kind enough to let us watch her, plus take photos/videos. Mich trials her dogs in the open events and she spends a lot of time training. As you can see there is more to this than just the dog or dogs, one needs land and sheep plus gear to take care of everything.  This dog and handler work was amazing to watch. Everyone should take the time to watch this type of dog and handler work if you can.

Enjoy the video, turn up the volume and you can see more photos here.

Thank you Betsey for taking us over to watch Mich.

Thank you Mich for letting us spend time with you that fun morning.

Cheryl’s First Day Training At Craney Hill!

Our new client Cheryl spent the weekend at Craney Hill Kennel for a consultation in dog training. Cheryl was put to work with our dogs in the field and in the training yard. Cheryl's english cocker spaniel Gunner has been here for training so she was dying to see him. Todd put Cheryl and Gunner to work and they both did a really nice job working together as you can see in the video. They both progressed in their training during the weekend and we are looking forward to more training sessions with Cheryl and her crazy cocker Gunner.  Enjoy the video and you can see more photos of their weekend here.

Kate 2nd Place In Maine

3799Kate

Kate places 2nd at the Maine trial. This was Kate's first open stake field trial, we call it her big girl trial. She and Todd did a fantastic job during the whole trial. We are very excited for Kate and her family and we are looking forward to continue working with Kate. She is a lovely girl. Thank you Bob for trusting us with your girl.

I found this perfect spot in NY for her photo, she just got done swimming so she had a short time to dry off.

Julio & Georgia Training Together!

Julio traveled 4000 miles from Alaska to see his gal Georgia for the first time. Julio was so happy to get out of the cold weather, but was soon tired of the heat, humidity & rain in Georgia. Julio and Todd trained everyday from morning to late afternoon and even in the rain. We truly enjoyed watching Julio smile so much when he was working with Georgia.

Georgia is not finished with her training but we are very hopeful that she continues to progress in her learning for the field trials and hunting.

It was sad to watch Julio say good bye to Georgia.

Thank you Julio for all of the wonderful treats from Alaska!
