Alder FC & Dibbs 1st Place In Puppy

Success in WV this weekend! Alder passed the water test which is all he needed to get his FC title, which still has to be confirmed by the AKC but we are still having a party. That’s my boy!

Warrener’s Sora Rail Of Craney Hill (Dibbs) got 1st place in the puppy, this is his second puppy trial and he also passed the water test.  Keep an eye on this guy, he is pretty special.

Kermit Is A Master Hunter!!

Congratulations to Alan & Kermit!

You are becoming a ribbon hog!

A note from Alan.

Kermit and I passed the final leg of our Master Hunter level for Spaniel Hunt Tests on Saturday Jan 28th at the Wateree Spaniel Club Hunt Test in Cheraw, SC.  WE finally got the title!  Weather was beautiful and very windy.  Kermit was on those birds very quick with 3 traps and two fly aways.  His hunt dead and water blind and water mark were very good.  It’s been a culmination of a lot of hard work so it felt good to get the title.  On Sunday he did well enough to receive the first leg of the Master Hunter Advanced title.  I think 4 or 5 more for that one.  It was great fun for the both of us.

While We Were Training In MO…

I sent Mary this note about shaving her dog, but I missed a letter in the beginning of my note.. Then I received her reply back. Just another funny day!! BTW, sunny and in the 60’s here in MO.

Me writing-Todd would like to know if Oonagh can be saved? It’s warming up.. We already shaved a bunch of the other dogs.

Mary’s reply-Christina, re-read your question to me.  I thought you were asking me if Oonagh can be SAVED, meaning she is so bad Todd is giving up on her…

Thank God you typed it better in the third sentence.  You scared me!!!

YES, shave her down 😉  Send me a picture so I can see her naked.  I think this will be her first time.  She had to look pretty for too many events last summer.  Go for it.

  • Open: This stake is open to all flushing spaniels 6 months old or older. This stake requires your dog to be completely steady.

Notes from Bill and Mary.

We went to the grouse trial. I ran Hess in the gun dog and got fourth. She kinda lost her mind with all the dogs, people, and gun fire. It was a very good showing. Anna finished the open without a placement. I was beaten soundly by better trained dogs. She took an extra step on a running low flyer and I thought she was going to break. I said hup and it cost me.  The competition was a lot stiffer this year. It was fun!

We just dove through snow and ice to come home from PA.  Abby won the Grouse Trial yesterday with Tim handling.  Very proud.  She has won a few times, and took 2nd last year.  She regained her title…

Team Craney Hill Places Again!

Another great day in the field for Alan & Kermit. Alan received the Gunners Award and 2nd place today in the cocker trial. We are going to do some celebrating tonight! Great job Alan and Kermit! I promise there will be photos of all the ribbons and trophies to come soon.

Craney Hill Wins Two Trials At The HOF!

blog2697todd-dibbs-alder-alan-kermitIt was a fantastic day for CH at the HOF trials in TN. Alder won the open stake in the first springer trial, Dibbs ran his first puppy stake and placed 4th. Alan and Kermit won the first cocker trial held here at the HOF trials. This is Alan’s first placement in a field trial. Alan and Kermit have worked very hard in training with Todd to get to this point. This was Alan’s 7th cocker trial with Kermit. We are so proud of Alan & Kermit! So glad you are part of the CH team! Photos will be coming soon.

A Clair Visit!!

We were so happy to see Clair, Grier & Camille in TX while we were down for the field trials. It was great to see how much Clair loves Grier and Camille, and the other way around. Thank you so much for taking time to come up to see us. Grier and Camille also stayed to watch some of the field trial and met many new people in the group.

We were also able to see Clair’s sister Ruby which is owned by Don & Pat in Kansas. It was a family event. Here are a few photos of Clair & Ruby. Clair is on the left.
